Name: Hsiu-chuan Liao
Birthday: February 2
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius
Blood Type: O
Birthplace: Hsichih District, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Religion: Buddhist (mainly in the Mahayana traditions [Sanskrit: mahāyāna: महायान, "Great Vehicle") ], although I am also exposed myself to the Vajrayana and Theravada traditions [Pāli: theravāda (cf Sanskrit: स्थविरवाद sthaviravāda); literally, "the Teaching of the Elders", or "the Ancient Teaching"])
I have been practicing a strict Buddhist vegan diet since fall 2007.
Why do serious Mahayana Buddhists follow a strict vegan diet?

What I value most
Equality: I become a Mahayana Buddhist mainly because equality is highly valued in such Buddhism traditions. Equality is a notion that is supposed to be applicable to all sentient beings (一切有情眾生).
Some of my favorites
Animals: dogs and monkeys

Fashion Store: Banana Republic (USA)
Coffee: 100% Kona Coffee (from Kona, the Big Island (or the Hawai‘i Island), Hawai‘i, USA)
Travel Destinations: Batad rice terraces (Cordillera Central, Luzon, the Philippines); Kīlauea Volcano Park on the Big Island/Hawai‘i; Pu‘uhonua National Park (City of Refuge) on the Big Island/Hawai‘i; Kalalau Lookout, Waimea Canyon, and Nā Pali Coast on the Garden Island of Kaua‘i ; Haleakalā (House of the Sun) on the Island of Maui
